Becoming A Volunteer

The first step to becoming an OPC volunteer is a 15-30 minute interview with a Volunteer Manager. During this time, one of our Volunteer Managers will share with you information about the volunteer opportunities available at the OPC. Additionally, they will discuss your interests, skills and availability in an effort to best match you with the perfect volunteer opportunity. You will be asked to complete a volunteer application form, along with any other forms specific to your volunteer position. Once we receive your completed application form, you will be entered into our database and then a mandatory background check will be done. Once the background check is completed we can begin to schedule you to volunteer.

All volunteers are encouraged to attend OPC’s Volunteer Orientation. This session is designed to educate volunteers about the OPC, its members, and its mission as well as volunteer responsibilities, expectations and benefits.

Contact the Volunteer Department directly at (248) 608-0270, for additional information or to schedule your appointment to meet with a Volunteer Manager.

We look forward to seeing you!
