Day Programs
Candidates Luncheon: Before to polls open OPC provides an opportunity for seniors to meet and greet the candidates and ask those and ask those questions we all have on our mind. About a month before election day we invite all the candidates to lunch. We need table hosts and numerous other positions to facilitate this worthwhile event!
Centerpieces: This is a great group for creative individuals. We have various functions every month that require the use of a centerpiece. And like magic the members of this committee create exciting and fabulous arrangements. Wouldn't you like to help with this magic?
Conversation Partners/International Team: Do you like learning about other cultures and interacting with seniors from other nations. Perhaps being a member of our International team would be your cup of tea! It is a gravitating experience to help our foreign friends become more Americanized.
Costume Designers: Do you have a flair for putting together top notch outfits? Whenever we gave a theatre production going on at OPC we need help in this department.
Day Events: Everybody likes to party! Would you be willing to be a part of getting the party together? This volunteer position offers many and varied duties. Ask for more details!
Electricians: Lights, Camera, Action! Where would we be today without Thomas Edison! We need volunteers that are skilled in lighting and electrical to help in many and varied capacities.
Focus on Issues: In the age we live in there are many issues to focus our attention on. If you like current events that shape our world you might like to get involved as a discussion leader.
Grandpersons' Program: Do you love children and believe they are our future? This is definitely a program for you. We offer many opportunities to interact with various age children both at OPC and in our wonderful Rochester Community Schools! Many young people today live far away from their grandparents and in this role you can make a remarkable difference in a young persons life.
History Buffs: Do you enjoy delving into the past? This group always needs inspired people to come up with great topics for in depth analysis.
Law Day: Once a year w assemble a prestigious group of learned attorneys to facilitate valuable seminars eared towards topics of interest to seniors. It takes many volunteers to plan and execute this worthwhile day.
Leisure Travel: We have an outstanding opportunity to travel with the OPC seniors. The members of the travel committee plan the yearly agenda. Plus members keep the nametags in order!
Men's Breakfast: Once a month at OPC we have an opportunity for the senior men of our community to gather for breakfast, a speaker and fellowship. For this event we require the help of our female volunteers to serve and help tidy up afterwards.
Pastor's Luncheon: This is a tremendous ecumenical opportunity to gather and break bread together with all of our faith based communities and their pastors. If you would like to be a part of making this happen than this is the committee for you!
Prime Time Singles: If you qualify to be a part of this vivacious group sign up now and you will never regret it. Planning and implementing various activities will keep you hopping and always PRIME!
Vintage View: Do you feel the urge to put your thoughts down on paper? Would you like to share your ideas with others? We have the perfect opportunity for you as a reporter for the Vintage View. Of course there are several positions available, and a great group of people to work with as the paper goes to press every three months.
