The goal of the Frail Elderly Department is to provide opportunities and services in a caring environment, allowing frail older adults to improve or maintain their health and well being so they may, with dignity and independence, remain in their home. The Frail Elderly Department offers: Adult Day Services Senior Resources Support Groups

 Adult Day Services
Hours: 7:30 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.

Each Client Experiences:

  • Avenues for socialization and peer support

  • Activities that will maintain or enhance physical, social, emotional and cognitive functioning

  • Maximized independence with activities of daily living as appropriate

  • Assistance or supervision with activities of daily living as appropriate

  • Avenues to renew old interests or to learn new skills in order to experience a continued sense of accomplishment and self-worth

  • Time away from the caregiver

  • An opportunity to prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization

Drop-in Respite:

Caregivers will now be able to participate in health and wellness plus enjoy programs offered at OPC due to a new service offered by the Dennis White Adult Day Service.  Drop-in respite is now being offered to those caregivers who have been confined to home because a loved one must not be left alone.  For a charge of $7.00 per hour, or a reduced rate based on ability to pay, your loved one will experience:

  • A variety of appealing activities

  • Meal and/or snack (if respite is used during this time.)

  • Warm, inviting atmosphere

  • Adequate space, furniture, equipment, indoors and out

  • Social interaction

  • Time out of the house for a change of scenery

  • Safe environment with constant supervision
